Russell Feingold, Democrat, of Middleton, WI; born in Janesville, WI, March 2, 1953; education: graduated from Craig High School, Janesville, WI, 1971; B.A., University of Wisconsin-Madison, 1975; Rhodes Scholar, Oxford University, 1977; J.D., Harvard Law School, 1979; professional: practicing attorney with Foley and Lardner, and with LaFollette and Sinykin, both in Madison, WI, 1979-85; public service: Wisconsin State Senate, January 1983 to January 1993; married: Mary Feingold; four children: daughters Jessica and Ellen, and stepsons Sam Speerschneider and Ted Speerschneider; committees: Budget; Foreign Relations; Judiciary; Special Committee on Aging; subcommittees: Security and Cooperation in Europe; elected to the U.S. Senate on November 3, 1992; reelected to each succeeding Senate term.
